United Technologies Corporation is sponsoring research projects at the University of Connecticut UTC Institute for Advanced Systems Engineering that contribute to the state-of-the-art in cyber-physical systems applications in UTC products.
The University Of Connecticut is involved in non-UTC Sponsored Research, funded by other outside sources.
Over the past 4 years, there have been many peer reviewed papers and conference proceedings from UTC Sponsored Research.
Over the past 4 years, there have been many journal papers published and conference proceedings, as well as Book Chapter in Preparation from non-UTC Sponsored Research.
Sponsored research is integral to achieving the goals of this Initiative in Advanced Systems Engineering. As such, United Technologies Corporation is announcing a Request For Proposals (RFP) to UConn faculty in three research areas with direct relevance to UTC businesses: 1) Control Synthesis and Design, 2) Thermal-Fluid System Modeling, and 3) Embedded and Software Intensive Systems. Proposers are required to partner with UTC professionals to maximize the relevance of research objectives to the needs of UTC businesses. Proposers are also required to incorporate internship opportunities at UTC businesses into proposed research programs. Proposers are encouraged to combine more than one research area into a single proposal. UTC has committed $500,000 per year for the next five years to conduct UTC business unit relevant research led jointly by UConn faculty and UTC engineers and scientists.
